BOOST THE BUILD

Donate to unlock $50K match

Invest in the future of Lunch Loops! We’re rebuilding the bike park—better, more sustainable, and designed for progression. The GVT Chapter has already committed $34K and we’re backing it with another $50K in matching funds. Every dollar you donate helps unlock more funding and keeps this project moving forward.

THE PROJECT

For years, the Lunch Loops Bike Park has been one of the most visible and accessible places to ride in the Grand Valley—a space where kids learn their first skills, families ride together, athletes push their limits, and visitors experience our riding culture firsthand.

More than a decade after it opened, the park is showing its age... but the demand for it has only grown. With the volume of riders it serves and the role it plays in skill development, it’s a space our community depends on. It just needs to be rebuilt to meet that demand.

The Grand Valley Trails Chapter of COPMOBA is launching a community campaign to reconstruct and modernize the park into a safer, more sustainable, and progression-focused space for all ages. With your support, we can transform it into a professionally built hub for riders across the valley!

THE VISION

Expanded Start Platform

The start mound will nearly triple in size, creating space for riders to gather, watch friends, and choose their lines. The new platform will also allow multiple start options and safer flow into features.

Progressive Jump Lines

New jump lines will be designed for beginner to intermediate-plus riders, supporting safe progression from rollers and small jumps to features with more speed and airtime, using wood lips to minimize maintenance.

Skills & Drop Zone

A dedicated skills area will add progressive drop features, helping riders practice technical skills they encounter on the trail.

Dual Slalom - COMPLETED & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

The existing dual slalom course—one of the most visible and heavily used features—has been reshaped, resurfaced, and improved for better drainage, flow, and safety. It is open to the public!

Join us Friday, May 15th for the S’mores & Slalom Event, a race and trailhead party benefiting phase 2 of the bike park rebuild.

Why This Proiect Matters

The Lunch Loops Bike Park is more than just a set of dirt jumps. It’s a community gathering space and supports structured skill progression. This space will provide a safe place for all aged riders to develop, practice and progress their skills before encountering trail features.

Our Fundraising Goal

The project is estimated to cost $200 to $225k depending on materials and feature construction.

The Grand Valley Trails chapter of COPMOBA has already committed $84,000 toward the project ($34k available immediately and $50k in matching funds). That means, every dollar donated by the community helps unlock additional funding and brings us closer to our complete rebuild!

We are also seeking in-kind donations of materials, such as dirt, wood, and retaining wall blocks to help stretch fundraising dollars further.

LL BIKE PARK FUNDRAISER FAQ

    • With strong community support, we’re optimistic the Lunch Loops Bike Park can be completed as early as the end of 2026. Reaching the $225,000 fundraising goal by fall will help keep the project on that timeline.

To keep things moving forward, the contractor is prepared to build in phases, allowing progress to happen as funds are raised. While timelines may extend to 2–3 years, every contribution helps accelerate completion and bring the full vision to life sooner.

    • Absolutely! GVT will schedule bike park specific dig days in coordination with Thunderbird Trail Works. See our Events page and follow our social media for upcoming events!

    • Kindly do not dig or work on the bike park without prior coordination with COPMOBA.

    • Thanks so much for your generosity! Please reach out to COPMOBA Executive Director, Faith Rodriguez (faith@copmoba.org) with the details and quantity – we’d love to see how your donation could support the overall construction.

    • Yes—this park is being designed for beginner to intermediate(plus) riders. Riders will be able to start with rollers and small jumps, then work up to features that introduce airtime in a controlled, approachable way. As skills build, more advanced lines will offer increased size and speed. In the Grand Valley, where the riding baseline tends to be higher, “intermediate” reflects a more advanced skill level than in many other areas—but the park is designed to help riders grow into that. A dedicated skills zone will also provide a place to practice technical features in a lower-risk environment, building confidence before taking those skills onto the trail.

    • Don’t worry advanced riders, we’ve been thinking about you. Rather than forcing advanced lines into the low-angle terrain of the current footprint, we’re exploring the possibility of a future expansion into an area known as Painted Bowl. This would allow for more appropriate terrain and a better overall riding experience for advanced lines. Please note this is still in the concept phase and has not received City approval. Our priority is to complete the core bike park rebuild first. If you’re interested in helping shape this next phase, we’d love your involvement. Reach out, attend a chapter meeting, or connect with our PRS subcommittee focused on expanding progressive riding opportunities in the valley.

    • The agreement with the City of Grand Junction includes the current footprint. While the features and layout will be fully redesigned, the overall size and boundary of the park will remain the same for this phase. We have ideas for expanding outwards, but this phase is to include only the existing area.

    • People like you—through organized volunteer efforts with COPMOBA. We’ll coordinate regular maintenance, from replacing damaged materials to hosting bike park–specific dig days. With the addition of wood lips, the park is also designed to require less upkeep overall.

    • Want to get involved? We’d love to have you—sign up to volunteer and be part of keeping the park running strong.

    • Yes. All donations through the Lunch Loops Bike Park fundraiser will support the build and/or maintenance of the bike park.

Disclaimer: If project needs or scope evolve, funds may be used to support COPMOBA’s broader mission in Mesa County, including trail planning, construction, maintenance, and advocacy.
